Each are being considered with the manager's job at the Premiership title holders following the former manager's departure on Monday.

The Manager's Position on Celtic

McKenna described the Glasgow giants as "a really big football club" but stressed he is "deeply involved" of a "extensive rebuilding" with the Championship side.

The 39-year-old took charge of Portman Road in 2021 and led them to the English top flight with consecutive elevations, but they won just a handful of victories last campaign as they were relegated back to the Championship and they presently occupy 12th in England's second tier.

"I have not had such conversations," the English capital native former Irish young player said when questioned about being on Celtic's shortlist.

"It's not something I have given any thought to, or where any portion of my concentration is this week.

"I have a special position here at a remarkable club. And we're at a crucial phase of the campaign. Everything outside of that hasn't reached my awareness."

Context and Agreement Aspects

Reports indicate that McKenna would be willing to talk to the Scottish side given his childhood support.

"During youth, we all have our preferences," he said when questioned about those. "It's unlikely all people has to go around and announce what they used to be, but of course it's a massive sports organization."

McKenna agreed to a new multi-year deal in last year and was questioned about his alleged buyout clause.

"Throughout coaching agreements, there are provisions," he replied. "I'm unaware what my specific terms are and, were I informed, I wouldn't disclose you anyway!

"I tackle this role like I will remain Ipswich manager indefinitely. I know that's not always going to be the case, but I'll always give maximum effort as while I remain in position."

The Welsh Coach's Situation

The former striker represented the Hoops on loan from Newcastle United in the mid-2000s, but the ex- Wales forward is minded to finish the current World Cup qualification, a stance that would effectively rule out the 46-year-old from immediately taking the Celtic job.

The Welsh squad are currently in third place in their World Cup group behind leaders Belgium and second-placed Macedonia.

Wins over Liechtenstein and their rivals in November would secure their place in the final qualifying round, but they are all but guaranteed of making those, thanks to a successful Nations League performance, even if they fail to finish as Group J runners-up.

Considering his present position, Bellamy, whose agreement concludes after Euro 2028, would not be available until after the qualifying matches at the earliest.
