Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the upcoming Young Athlete of the Year award.

These three athletes have been honoured for their outstanding achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang helped the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the first time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a record-breaking innings.

Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his breakthrough year.

The shortlisted athletes were revealed during a live broadcast on a popular morning radio program.

The champion will be announced during a live broadcast on the prestigious sports ceremony show on December 18th.

The event will be televised from 19:00 GMT.

The Football Star

Only 90 days after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to winning the Euros.

She was introduced as a substitute to score vital last-gasp goals in both the knockout stage games.

These match-saving moments led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.

Afterwards, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the top young European talent.

She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.

Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.

"Being nominated for this award is incredible," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."

The Darts Prodigy

Littler kicked off the year in sensational style as - while still 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.

He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.

His success continued - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, breaking the previous record.

"Earning a spot on the shortlist for the honour once more is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a proud moment for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."

The Cricket Sensation

Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and rose to fame with an remarkable and historic innings in August.

Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.

It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.

Perrin finished second in the season's run tally and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.

"I'm truly honoured to be shortlisted for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it inspires more girls to get into cricket."
