The Grisly Animated Film Conclusion That Stays With Audiences

Out of all the mature animated films I’ve ever watched, no other has lingered in my mind as much as the dread-soaked ending of a graphically gory as well as highly provocative film from 2022 Unicorn Wars.

Back in 2015’s, this Spanish filmmaker developed a dark, melancholy , often savage world with several minor , forlorn twinges of hope.

Although The Unicorn Wars appears as it stemmed from an impulse to expand the medium even more, the filmmaker stated that it was more an attempt to express a widespread, multicultural theme regarding “the mutual source of every conflict.”

That idea is communicated through a group of vividly colored bears , clearly inspired by a well-known series of lovable figures.

Growing up in a culture focused on militarism as well as the war machine, many of these animals are fixated on killing the mythical beasts, due to a religious scripture that claims them they previously were masters of the woodland, before the unicorns expelled them.

A few have not completely fallen for the propaganda, and choose to experiment with substances and fornicate in the forest.

In contrast to their cuddly counterparts, these colorful critters show genitals , definite libidos.

For one particularly cruel, pessimistic creature, the bear named Bluey, the conflict with unicorns transforms into a path to power — and especially to authority over his more tender, more compassionate sibling Tubby.

Bluey behaves aggressively , a seeming sociopath , and while fear takes over his squad and takes his fellow soldiers individually, he takes increasingly influence on his own behalf, via progressively gory, destructive ways.

Meanwhile, these mythical beings are suffering their own terror, in the form of an expanding, destructive monster in their habitat.

“In the early stages, it appears as a humorous movie,” the filmmaker commented. “Yet it turns into a more intense and sorrowful film. And by the end, it’s a horror film.”

The Unicorn Wars commences resembling one of the most quirky movies from a renowned filmmaker, which find a naughty glee in permitting animated figures curse, engage in violence, or have intimate relations.

Afterward it becomes something more like a darker movie by that same artist, including ever more explicit brutality and a noticeable connection to genuine suffering of war.

Ultimately, it’s a complete Grand Guignol carnage.

The fear that makes this a perfect Halloween movie kicks in well before than indicated.

Unicorn Wars is suited for the devoted lovers of violence, for enthusiasts of intense movies who desire to watch something they have not watched previously, and can endure a narrative that offers absolutely no punches.

See it in a dimly lit space with no disturbances, and the conclusion will dig deep within you and linger.
