Dean Henderson Had little to do to perform during the opening 45 before forced to intervene from an opponent's bent shot. A sliding challenge against Qazim Laci showed excellent game intelligence. 6/10

The defender Moved forward with the ball at his feet, as he has done in the past. At times lacked urgency when carrying play with the tactic was shelved by the interval. Six

Dan Burn A constant threat from dead balls, typically, could serve as an alternative to Stones at the back rather than his partner. One wayward pass in the second half came close to an opener for Albania. 6/10

Nico O’Reilly Another assured showing by the youngster following his initial appearance against Serbia. Saka failed to make the opportunity from a gorgeous touch behind their defense. The left-back spot looks secure already. Seven

The newcomer A debut start for his country. Somewhat careless in possession though his whipped deliveries posed a danger. A useful pace-controller available to the manager to utilize versus defensive opponents. Cautioned for a poorly timed foul. 6

The midfielder Deliveries from dead balls and set-plays were dangerous. Was given freedom to drift on the left yet found himself in an offside position when the ball arrived with a chance to score. Awarded a well-earned substitution after an hour. Six

Jude Bellingham Functioned in a high role out wide and contributed with defensive duties. Showed flashes of quality and scuffed an effort wide. Withdrawn late on by a teammate, a fellow player, following a yellow card. 7

Jarrod Bowen Was presented with England’s clearest opportunity before halftime, his strike excellently kept out by Thomas Strakosha. As Quansah hanging back, he was forced to offer an outlet on the right although his balls from the touchline varied in quality. Taken off with 15 to go. 6/10

The captain The match-winner with his two more finishes for his country. His first a classic poacher’s finish and his next an excellent header having drifted away away from the opposition. At 32, he continues to improve and England stand a real opportunity in the upcoming tournament with him leading the line. 8

The attacker Found it tough to influence play from the left. Was presented with a presentable chance when set up from a teammate yet Strakosha kept it out. Rashford produced a bigger influence when substituted. 5/10
