The Liverpool midfielder has revealed that Mohamed Salah said sorry to the entire Liverpool squad after the uproar from his televised remarks.

What Happened

Salah was left out from a European match after criticising the club and claiming his relationship with manager had broken down.

“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, please accept my apology.’”

Arne Slot has refused to comment publicly on whether he received a personal apology from the veteran striker.

Looking Ahead

He emphasized that the team's response was unchanged. “He was his usual self, he was smiling and it was business as usual,” the midfielder explained.

Jones also implied that a teammate fighting for a place is preferable. “I get that there are different methods you can go about things,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just not start, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”

Team Form

Their results have stayed unbeaten in the matches since the interview fallout. Jones believes the forward's comments were never meant to cause disruption.

“When there’s been any sort of anger, it has consistently come from a desire to win,” Jones concluded. “That chapter is closed and we’re building chemistry, performing and securing victories.”
