Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity close to the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any damage is uncertain and the US has remained silent.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house US military bases - stated they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their airspace.

In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.

IRGC Statement

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was targeting US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That preceding assault - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on sites associated with the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to revolt against the leadership.

Wider Impacts

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military said it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems responded to the missiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a number of missiles," it added.

Officials reported wreckage fell on a residential area in the capital, resulting in some property damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
