Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Real-time updates includes text commentary for Sunday's games on various channels, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, radio commentary can be heard on designated networks covering a separate game (from 21:00 BST).

We're in the sixth week of the NFL season and after recent talk regarding two top teams being possible championship contenders, each surrendered their unbeaten records.

Striking during those contests was the amount of infractions each committed. Philadelphia committed them in key moments so they essentially defeated themselves having led by two touchdowns entering the fourth period against Denver, set to play overseas this Sunday.

However it was good to see how Denver's QB Bo Nix managed to have the shortfall and then direct three scoring drives in three attempts in the fourth quarter, to win the victory 21-17.

The Broncos boast the defensive player of the year with CB Pat Surtain II. They rank number one in goal-line defense, whereas the Eagles are number one in scoring near the end zone, and Denver prevailed in that contest.

They executed effective strategies in terms of simulated pressure. They weren't necessarily sending more than four defenders instead they could plug two linebackers in the interior then drop them out and dispatch a slot defender off the edge.

Early on of the season, it was noted on a program how Denver might emerge as this season's surprise contenders. They ended the previous year well and excelled in continuing that momentum.

Could Denver be this year's underdog story?

New TE Evan Engram has stepped up significantly and recent running back their rusher is a player they believe in. He now ranks 5th league-wide in ground gains (over 400) and tied for fourth in rushing scores (four).

I love that head coach Sean Payton displays "RUSH!" prominently of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates that Denver are a squad aiming to prioritize the run, since one can do a lot based on that approach. It reduces opposing rushes and maintains in favourable down and distances.

This has benefited QB the young passer, who came into the league as the 12th overall draft pick last year, throwing 29 TDs – just behind a star QB in rookie records (31 back in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert have powerful arms to throw all over, however they lack in the same way as Nix. He has exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, and he's highly agile.

His strengths include his movement, the capacity to pass on the run, as well as finding varied release points to make throws when he rolls out of the pocket, on rollouts. He is able to deliver that layered pass across the middle or past defenders.

For a young quarterback, aged 25, he displays a lot of composure in the pocket and is not bothered by the blitz. He aims to evade being tackled as much as possible and can throw in tight spots. He has sharp intelligence and remains quick to decide.

When you consistently run the ball it consumes time and makes the opponent to stay in play extended periods, and if you've got a mobile QB the defence has to cover the field vertically side to side. This proves draining.

The quarterback has pushed back with the coach during games sometimes and I think the coach appreciates that attitude, seeing him as a fierce rival. In my view it's exciting for him to have a young quarterback that is similar to moldable clay. The coach can truly develop him the way he wants to shape him. I believe it's a unique opportunity for the coach.

The head coach has won a Super Bowl and has passed Bill Parcells for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed everything. I think the success the Broncos are experiencing offensively is largely due to his guidance, his schemes, his situational awareness – and the pairing with Nix helps make him what he is.

You wouldn't want a better guy guiding you, to assist you during difficult moments and boost self-belief.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. But are they strong enough to go against a top squad at its best? Because that wasn't championship-level play by the Eagles in their last game.

Currently, I don't think Denver are incredible. They're performing better than most, that's a solid position to be in their division. All they need is is maintain this trajectory.

They're really good at embracing their strength, that is the ground game, and that's precisely what they should do versus the New York Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.

The Jets have surrendered 140 rushing yards each contest (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (10th worst), and they are the only team yet to win a game.

Since the NFL started recording turnovers decades ago, this team are also the first team to go without any turnovers in five outings, this is kind of shocking when you think that the head coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach with another team.

Patrick Mahomes says Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' after Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.

After this Sunday's game, the Broncos have a manageable slate up to their bye (in week twelve) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans plus the Raiders prior to the Chiefs.

Looking at the AFC West, Kansas City hold a losing record while Denver are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could make a run for the top of the division.

This hinges on which form Kansas City shows up they meet since the Broncos {beat|def
