Football Analyst Sutton Takes On Singer Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's 10-game winning run was ended by Sunderland prior to the global break, however will the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, against artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of special visitors.

For week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's new record, the new release, is out on Friday.

Football and Family Life

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of multiple charity football games down the years - but he is not planning a professional return as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a charity game the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not force football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their Saturday soccer side," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a soccer team for a period too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our side for several seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their attack is now more potent with Pedro and Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this fixture will be quite tight, however. The Clarets are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

It suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their past two matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.

West Ham's sole away victory this season came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno was still Forest coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers extending their streak under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I will choose the Cherries, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign started, but they have surprised a few people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their past four games.

My son told me to get Bees forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

The forward will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had great fortune on the travel this term, and Brighton are consistently strong at home. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team pose much more of a danger.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality turns out to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six matches.

Fulham have got plenty of talent in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.

As for Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.

Their display in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not witnessed anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the end of October.

But I am not going to choose that. Instead, I really need to continue going against the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good results because they clearly love to prove me wrong.

Looking at Fulham's home form, the sole side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be extremely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

Olly's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a poor run... but they have still been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough fixture to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but might they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
