Esteemed Star Pat Finn, Known For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Dies at the Age of Sixty.

The actor Pat Finn had a key role in the acclaimed sitcom "The Middle".

US performer Finn, who featured in popular programs like Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has passed away at the age of 60.

The comedic improv actor died at home in Los Angeles recently having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, per news outlets.

"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his relatives said in a announcement.

They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".

A Notable Television Career

Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.

He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.

He starred as the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a social organizer famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.

In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on several hit series, like:

  • King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • That '70s Show
  • "House"

Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.

His work in movies are "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Beyond the Screen

Outside of his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was part of a comedy group of six called "Beer Shark Mice".

"He taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils during his career and it would be difficult to find anyone anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

In a tribute, peer actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared publicly.

The actor is remembered by his wife Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
