Week 10 once more provided excitement, with a huge upset for the Buffalo Bills proving the 'any Sunday can bring surprises' saying that attracts so many people into the National Football League

That result may have opened opportunities for the New England Patriots to move back into a top spot they formerly held, with a remaining games that provides them an edge over their eight and two competitors

Over in the NFC the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had perfect results to arrange a monster clash next week, while our top performer is pursuing milestones as well as the MVP award

Analysis - Just a Bad Day for the Bills?

Did Josh Allen try too much or was it just a bad day for the Bills?

Could it simply have been an emotional letdown from beating the Chiefs last week or a deeper issue? This remains the question for the Buffalo team to address

The Bills had secured seven victories in a row against Miami but were second best from the start as the Dolphins ran out 30-13 winners in an eye-opening outcome - and display

MVP Josh Allen only got the team's opening first down in the third period and initial scoring in the final quarter - yes the Dolphins had ten days to get ready but it was nonetheless a massive egg laid by one of the league's best offenses

Tua Tagovailoa threw two scores but rusher Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 total yards and two touchdowns

Bottling up the league's best rushing attack was crucial too, with Cook and teammates recording just 86 yards, their fewest of the season and just over half their 161.5-yard season average

Then there were the three critical ball losses, and the two from Allen in particular. An pass caught by defense in the end zone resulting in a nine-minute possession produced nothing, and his fourth-quarter dropped ball that the Dolphins converted to a touchdown just later

It was typical 'old Buffalo' as they shot themselves in the foot, getting into a hole on defensive side and Allen attempting to do too much to dig his team out of it - rather than the composed, controlled, well-balanced Buffalo team we've seen this year

Miami have demonstrated a varied performances this year so the jury's out on whether this is the start of something, but for Buffalo they'll require an instant response in a tough game against the Buccaneers next week as the New England are sneaking into a nice lead at the top of the American Football Conference East

Spotlight - New England See Path to Unexpected First Place

Speaking of the New England, they're among three eight and two teams in the NFL, all AFC sides, but are they the top team?

You can pick holes in New England, Denver and the Colts really for dominating the weaker opponents, with just five of their total 24 wins achieved against opponents with a winning record - and one example was the Colts defeating the Denver

Denver defeated the reigning champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are masters of the fourth-quarter while Indy can rely on Taylor, but the New England including Sunday's win in Tampa Bay to their prime time win in Buffalo seems like a statement

Their two defeats occurred in recently appointed coach Vrabel's initial three games, with seven straight victories, just like the Broncos, since then - but taking down Mayfield after the Bucs had a bye to get ready was huge

Maye's MVP claims won't go away, and he definitely earns point for bravery after taking some hard tackles in Tampa Bay but hanging in there to guide his side to success

The defense is solid and rookie rusher TreVeyon Henderson exploded on game day with 147 yards and two exciting scores of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - establishing himself as just the fifth ball carrier to exceed 22mph this year on his first score

Although you can debate who 'the top team' is statistically, the Patriots should be favorites to finish with the top record due to their remaining opponents - which features just a single matchup against a successful opponent, albeit a huge one against Buffalo

Visiting Baltimore is also tough, but Denver have it even tougher in the AFC West with the Kansas City to face two times, the Chargers (who might also challenge for top seed but encounter the same problem) and additionally the Packers on the schedule

The Indianapolis also play the Kansas City, and have the Seattle, San Francisco and two matchups with the 5-4 Jaguars to face. There's a considerable distance to travel but the opportunity is available for a shock top seed in the AFC

Next Week - Los Angeles and Seattle Prepare for Next Week Clash

Both squads with strong arguments to be superior to all of the three different eight and two teams are NFC West rivals the Seattle and Los Angeles, who each put up forty points to reach seven and two ahead of the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster meeting between the two in LA

Both have won four in a row, have quarterbacks in Matthew Stafford and Sam Darnold playing at an high standard (although Sam Darnold had turnover issues on game day) with excellent pass catchers, and defenses giving up fewer than twenty points a contest

Each could realistically be undefeated as well - especially the Los Angeles as their two defeats occurred in extra time against the 49ers and then that agonising loss in Philly when they had a potentially winning kick with the last kick deflected and returned by the Philadelphia for a touchdown

Seattle were also defeated to the 49ers, with a late touchdown in week one, before falling to the last kick of the contest against the Tampa Bay - so they are genuinely among the best sides in the league

The upcoming game on Sunday could be the most exciting of the year so far
